Actually i am also learning to do it. yes i can play the video on it. placing
marker i think can be also done if you create a video, but i haven't done it
yet. but why do you want a marker? On the view menu there's a play or play from
the beginning to play the video you recorded.

Wait, you're doing this on a Mac?
The reason I'd want to be able to manipulate markers is to be able to edit the
video. Also, markers can be used to quickly indicate places where stuff such
as voice overs or music or other sounds can be ingected.

yes i am using it on a mac, and i am using the newest version of imovie. the
time line is tricky though.i am using Yosemite 10.10.3

I can confirm this. Last year when I volunteered to beta test ioS 8, I use the
restore function in iTunes because I didn't realize you could update until I
got a very good MP3 webinar from Jonathan Mosen called "Testing, Testing".
After the restore, boy was it sure hard to get my apps back from
