Don’t panic. Your sounds are being effected by audio ducking. What this means is that when voice over speaks, the regular Mac sounds get ducked under. This is the same as with the Iphone. Should you wish to turn this off, you need only go to the Voice Over utilities under the soudns tab. The

Since they are brf files, if you want to read them in your Mac, first load into TextEdit. You have to have a braille display. Then, and you may want to make a copy before you do this, select all the text and do a transformation by going to EDIT, and going down arrow until you find TRANSFORMATION
