Hello Mary, The first thing to do is to check on the Canon site for a new driver for this scanner. They never come with truly up-to-date drivers for Mac. Then, get the latest version of VueScan. In VueScan, set the scan resolution to 300DPI. Set external editor to default. Set the output file
