attachments, and in fact that box is checked. when i went to open the document
it opened in text edit, but i could not get the attachment. all i heard was
that a file was embedded. can anyone help? thanks.

What type of file is the main file? If it is a RTF with attachments, then the
file is actually a "package". So you can open the contextual menu and request
"View package contents".

When in iTunes, go under the Advanced menu and select "Choose Photos to Share".
You should be able to select your iPhoto Library then have access to
individual photos and videos that reside in your iPhoto Library.
