If you go to the doc, and go to mail in the doc, open vo+shift+m and in there
under options sub menu you should find you've got open at log in checked just
uncheck it and [maybe ] check keep in doc instead!

It worked perfectly. I had no idea that there were options like that in the
dock. I generally don't use my dock as it is actually easier to set up a script
to activate mail, safari, Amadeus Pro etc. Thanks a lot for the help.

Yep. the thing you need to do is open up the short cut menu and at the bottom
of this menu you will find the Click to Flash prefs.
In the player tab, which you get to by pressing VO+space on the tab and then
VO+right till you get to the controls, you want HTML 5 as the default player.

As far as Skype is concerned, look into Growl, which you can download from
www.growl.info. It supports Skype and many other Mac programs, and will let
you configure its notifications in a preference pane.
