Yes, that helps. Thanks so much. I have s much to learn. Wow, I
did not even know that browser exists. I don't quite get how it's
suposed to work. It was weird because itunes was acting very weird
for me yesterday and then it seems to be working just fine now.

Hi Christina,
The Songs table is still there in iTunes 9, and it works as it did
before. The accessibility problems some of us have been writing about
concern the Playlist browser, which displays artists and albums and
which you turn on with Command-B.

I have a question that I'm confused about. I have not upgraded to
itunes 9. One reason is that I'm confused as to if they got rid of
the songs table. Is that so? I would not like itunes without the
songs table. If it's an html table that would not make me happy as I
do not know how to
Hi Justin,
I'm so glad my suggestions worked for you. I think you were the person
who pointed out that focus changes when you arrow up and down the
Column Browser, but VO doesn't track the changes. Once you pointed
that out, I could figure out what to do. Thanks so much for mentioning

Wow, I'm glad to hear other people are struggling with this. I'm not
crazy after all. I would like to thank Anna for the great advice. It
worked for me. I do have to say that I would also like to get the old
iTunes functionality back however. how did you figure that out?!
Wow. Anyways, I do
I am running Leopard, and have the same issue; doesn't this make it
more an Itunes bug?

Oh, that is good to know. I have not encountered this only because I
have not played with itunes since I upgraded to SL. I've only
listened to a podcast since I upgraded. However, that did not require
much navigation. I'll check it out in a bit.

shoot! Being able to just start typing and having the cursor jump
where I want to go has been a huge helper and so it's hard to imagine
itunes without it. Hm

Thanks for this. One point, if I may: This is an issue with Snow
Leopard, not with iTunes. Note the following (my original post) begun
fully nine days before the new iTunes became available.

That was a great idea. Unfortunately, I just tried it and it doesn't
produce intelligible results. VO just says "Scroll area," and won't
let me interact or find anything else out.

this is just a thought and I do not know if this works. What about
using the item chooser menu to find the son/artist you are looking for
in the songs table. vo plus i Then type the first letters of the
artist or son

So it's not just me, and I'm not just crazy? In the version of Itunes
before this, all I had to do was tab into the browser, to the field I
wanted, hit the first few letters, use plain down or up arrows to do
the fine tuning. I don't see this as being more VO friendly, and I
want my old
Hi,
Thanks to the comment earlier about focus changing when you move
around the Column Browser but VO not being aware of it, I found a way
to locate an artist you want by typing a few letters. It's a bit
tedious, but it works consistently.
