The Unarchiver will let you automatically open just about every
compressed file type you are likely to encounter that is not already
handled by your Mac, including rar files.

You want to extract the contents of a rar file correct? Rar files are
like zip ones in that they are an envelope or wrapper for the
packaging of files.
You cannot convert a rar into an mp3.
if you just want to extract the contents of a rar which
