there. That option was disabled in settings which may be why.

On My Mac is a group or category heading, that contains local mailboxes. It is
not a folder.
You can delete the local mailboxes, and perhaps that may eliminate the group,
but I would just leave it alone.

Rebuilding will only make the version on your computer look like the version on
the web assuming a IMAP mailbox is being used. It should make sure that the
indexes that are used for the summaries are also matched correctly to the
actual files that get created for each message.

These mailboxes just don’t seem to have been created, despite the fact that I
have deleted messages. The messages I’ve deleted seem to have just vanished,
despite the fact that my mail prefs were set not to erase deleted messages for

You are better off using VO + left/right arrow keys when navigating the Mail
app window.
When in the mailbox folder list view, press VO + Left-arrow key twice to move
to the Mailbox list.

multiple devices don't appear to be properly syncing. That is, maybe you read
some messages on your iPhone, didn't delete them, but for some reason they're

one place to another folder. That places it inside that folder, which is not
what I need. I need to move these folders to the root level (or the level just

Yes, generally speaking, you can definitely create a new mailbox using any
client. However, you must be certain that the new mailbox/folder is located
within an iMap folder so that it can be seen from all of your mail clients.

that you don't try vo-END on the mailbox list, I found VO hanging with

There is no direct way to do this. Just create the Mailbox, then go to the
source mailbox and do a select all. Then do a move command. It you have
over 1000 messages you will need to give it some time especially if moving
to the iMap folder. I try to clear out older messages around this time from

In the mailbox list you must use the VO cursor to find the On My Mac line. The

Item chooser will also work, but it is a bit slow. I highly recommend that you
don't try vo-END on the mailbox list, I found VO hanging with this co
I have some folders I wish to move to the On My Mac folder. These
are folders I currently keep on the Windows machine. I moved them into
an IMAP folder and see them on the Mac.
