Well, for what it’s worth, I just checked my copy of iOS 8 Without the Eye, and
it is very clear that handoff can benefit multiple iOS devices. So Heather
must have misremembered somehow. In fact, I’m fairly sure I had that
impression once as well; after all multiple iOS devices is presumably
Hello Shawn, as the author of that book, I can assure you that it makes it
clear that hand-off works not just between compatible Macs and iDevices, but
between compatible iDevices too.
Here's the opening paragraph of the Continuity chapter, where hand-off is
discussed.

Hi. I know you Matthew and Chris are on the Peel The iPhone List. In the

can't use Hand Off without a Mac. I would ask her this question as to what book
she read this from.

Read all the warnings. You’ll patch kernel extensions, and most likely need an
external USB adaptor which won’t work very reliably anyway. ‘Salright, I’ll

Yes, it’s the case. My Mac is too old for handoff, but since getting an Apple

let’s say when I see the hand off badge in my Mac be it the Mac mini or I Mac,
both devices respectively, I Mac, late 2012 and Mac Mini 2014, the latest one
out. So I locate my mail which is hand off, but I

I just got a new MBA last month and it still doesn't work. It didn't work on my
older Mac, so I thought getting a new one may help. That's not the reason I

Hi Lisette. How old is your Mac? Apparently hand off only works on 2012 or
later Macs. If it's older than that, the only thing you'll be able to do is
phone calls and text messages.

iPhone, but handoff has never worked for me. Everything is signed into the same
iCloud account and on the same wifi.

Hi again,
I complained about Hand off not working between my 3 devices, but the fix was
so simple, I could kick myself in the face, (Wish I was that flexible).
All I needed to do, was to uncheck, and then recheck The checkboxes for handoff
on the MacBook and iPad.
Everything is now working
SMS messaging is suppose to come with IOS 8.1
all the other hand off features are suppose to work.
