Ok I've got one more question. Got growl installed and and saw what it did
when notifications were being showed, but couldn't get VO to speak them. So
how do I tie Growl into voiceover or have Growl speak notifications? TIA.

Hello x-chat works fairly well and you can set it to work with growl (so speak
stuff that might not be spoken buy vo).

Well today, I got it to read the userlist finally, but I was mousing over that
window, When I'd try and navigate to it and then interact with it VO did
nothing. Zoom still won't track as I type in the input window and that's the
thing that really bugs me most as I rely on zoom as much as I do V
interesting , i use xchat on the 2 mini's and irssi on the air. Where
of course it works , henze why i use it ;)

PS: I've also mailed the developer of X-Chat Aqua to let him know that VO and
Zoom weren't working on the client. I'll keep the list posted.

Hi all,
Well, since my initial post about loosing accessibility with x-chat Aqua, I did
find that by interacting with the Text window, that voiceover would then
proceed to read all the channel text, but it does not read text as it comes in,
it just reads whatever fills the screen at that moment.
Hello, interesting i also found x-chat that works fairly well.
I only dont see the chat messages on my screen with my braille display although
they are pronounced with growl.

Hi,
Adium can do the same, though. The settings seem to apply to all accounts,
including IRC. I'll try it out, though. It might work even better. Thanks.

Nick, if you want a stable, and little working client google for
macirssi. it works, and you can trick it so you get speech on
incomming messages. Pretty handy if you are on freenode and am on some
of the bigger channels and am too lazy too read up;

Hi,
Too much work. Adium seems to support IRC, so I'll just stick to that.

HEllo, i just did a search for irc and cocoa in the hops of finding a client
that will work with vo, and i did find something
http://libircclient.sourceforge.net/cocoa/doc/html/index.html
This is a framework though so I am not sure how much work would have to be done
to turn it into a working cli
