Dear list,
I upgraded my M1 macbook air to the latest Sequoia operating system. One of
the few problems I find is that I can no longer view emojis. I get to the
popup window with emojis, I can see the categories but if I select a category
with vo+spacebar, I can’t view the individual emojis
Ok, so I’ve upgraded to Sequoia on macbook air M1 chip and now in Messages app
when I activate emojis, I can vo through the categories of emojis but I can’t
actually see any emojis as such. They have disappeared. Any ideas what’s
going on here? Previously I would interact with the table of

Hello,
I use an app called Rocket for emojis. You type a character sequence followed
by the first few letters of the emoji you need. The app uses the system voice
to read suggested emojis. There is a free version.
Here is the link.

Hello all,
I’m wondering how to consistently use emojis on the Mac. When I go into the
emojis window with CTRL+COMMAND+SPACe, sometimes I am presented with a search
box and a button called “switch to large window.” When this button is
activated, various tables are presented, but no emojis
I love the emoji selection option on the Touch Bar. But how would I scroll to a
different page of emojis? If it’s not on the first page, I’m not sure how to
quickly navigate to others besides just flicking through. Is there a way?

Hi ET,
There are still categories. They're arranged across the bottom row of the
screen.

Hi Donna,
I think the problem is accessing more emojis, I do not use them that
much but would like to explore them. Back a couple versions there were
categories but I do not see how to do this. Playing with this in my
lighter moments, makes for a nice break.

ET,
If you simply move your finger around until you get the emoji you want, then
lift it, touch typing will work. One thing that will help, select recently
used as your category. That way the emojis you use most often will be the ones
you encounter first.

I use touch typing on my phone. Is it possible to navigate the
emojis in this mode or must I switch to standard typing?

Apple proposes new emojis for people with disabilities
The iPhone maker offered up 13 new designs for review.

A wheelchair, a service dog and prosthetic limbs could join your emojis of
men and women jogging and playing sports.

Hi all,
Just wondering how to do this. I have the category selected, but I only see
one emoji. How do I access the other emojis in that category?
Thanks,

I got to hear what emojis are, but no one answered my question on how to make
it so voiceover does not announce them. Is this possible or *smiles* maybe no
one knows that answer?

Emojis are a font where each letter is an icon of some sort. They
originated in Japan where, I assume, it was an easy transition from
Japanese pictograph type of writing to a font that lets you also write
with pictures. For example, here is an Emoji of a horse, if it comes
through the email

Hi there everyone.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make it so that VO does not announce
emojis?
