I am thinking about getting a braille embosser that is wireless so I can print
from my phone. I know Index has printers that will do this, are their any other
printers that I could look at? Only want it for personal use, so wanted
something small and inexpensive.

I have just heard that they should work with the mac.
Now i have a blista brailletech which was great using windows but their support
refuses to create drivers for the mac for some reason.
I guess its because the printer itself installs a virtual com port under
windows.

Which model do you have of Index? If this is what I need to get for
the Mac, then I will have to work it out. One thing that appeals to me
is the Basic model is half the weight of my old Juliet. Be so much
easier to move around.

Ran the command. No ports other than 2 Bluetooth ports. I will wait
to hear back from Enabling. And look at new embossers. Which will just

THe only embosser i know works for the mac is the index braille embossers.
The latest version can even work with your phone i think.

If you do in Terminal:
ls /dev/cu*
What is returned, apart from your Bluetooth ports?
Hopefully the port is just serial-USB so you can simply send embossable text to
it in standard ASCII form. Test it out with a braille file, as short as you
can of course so as not to waste the paper.

driver. I also tried to install this embosser in the Windows VM.
Do you have any ideas? I need solutions if there are any.
Duxbury for the Mac is vaporware until it is released...if it ever

I've got a braille blazer from 2004 that I no longer want nor need as it is
serial/paralell and can't use it with any of my machines. I am asking $1500
with original packaging, excellent condition. A bit off topic here I know but I
figured I'd try all avenues I could to sell it
