OK we have two issues here. One is generating Braille files, sometimes called BRF file and the other is embossing the files.
The only option for translation on Mac right now is to use liblouis you can do this either online or from a program. Another option is to use the robobraille service http://www.cbtbc.org/braille/ http://www.robobraille.org For embossing from a Mac see the following instructions: http://www.cbtbc.org/tools/embosser/ For reading BRF files on a Mac see these instructions: http://www.cbtbc.org/tools/macbrf/ It is possible to run the Windows program Braille2000 as a Wine application on the Mac which means that it will run more or less like a stand alone Windows program and will not require an install of windows itself. I have never tried but would doubt that Duxbury would be able to do the same given it's rather extensive copy protection.
