songs are present and synced to the iDevices. I've been using the header
trick to do some more work and quite easily too.

Then I unhid the album on the Mac. The AAC label is gone and all
looks good now on Mac and iDevices. Time for lunch and a book. :)

Since they are purchased content, you should be able to easily delete then
re-download the album without losing anything. Worth a try anyway. If you're
at all worried about losing things, you can copy the existing album to the
Desktop temporarily.

when importing a CD or other media into iTunes. Now, that's a "usually", so,
if it's misbehaving, then I'd have to play with it more.
Ok what throws me off track is two things. One, the items with the
AAC kind. Don't understand this as its 20 out of 86 songs purchased from
the iTunes store.
Two, apparently I don't need to sync the purchased music because its
already on my devices.

dialog and found the "kind" option. While there, I unchecked a couple
other useless items.
Here is what "kind" got me. "Purchased AAC audio file". But this is
not on all of the songs, less than half.

synced to my iDevices is about 100 less. Plenty of free space so just
