I have had this problem. It's the kind of computer software problem I
particularly dislike--it's there sometimes, but not always.
I have found that clearing out of everything, and especially deleting
everything in the Virtual\ Machines.localized folder, helps when I try
again. Sometimes it has wor
No I am still having the same issue. Even with the virtual CD drive pointed at
the iso file I still get the no operating system found message when I start the
virtual machine.

I last used Windows natively in 2020. My last Windows in a VM was
earlier than that, and I honestly don't recall when that would have
been. However, I can't imagine why Narrator wouldn't work. There's no
specific chip dependency in our screen readers, afaik. Yes, they're OS
environment specific, bu
Hi Dave:
Yes, but I'd shop a tad further. That price sounds like the stand-alone
desktop price, and you might be able to use one of the OEM licenses for
less. It's been a long time since I purchased a Microsoft license, but I
don't imagine things have really changed much.

Hello Janina,
Good. That’s done, and I was able to delete the reference to X64 in my VMWare
settings.
Now for the real question: Do I simply purchase a windows license on Microsoft
or Amazon, and apply it to the W11 ARM that I am running? I think the price for
the license is US$199, so I don’t
Hi!
I guess the narrator screen reader works for the windows arm version too?

Yes, I think you got it done.
Be sure to check for any hidden files in that folder, though. Off the
top of my head I'm not recalling whether there's a hidden file to worry
about, but it's a common enough software strategy to guard against
things like accidental deletions.

Okay, I found Davecarlson/Virtual Machines and deleted the x64 version. Does
that sound correct?

There's a folder:
$HOME/Virtual Machines.localized/
All your virtual machines are just files in that folder, and can be deleted in
any of the usual ways.
Best,

I just installed VMWare Fusion. That part was easy. Where I went wrong (I
think) is the version of Windows ISO I downloaded. Since this VM is an ARM
machine, I needed to get the Windows 11 ARM version. It’s downloading right now.
Here’s my question: How do I remove the incorrect version of Windo
No, not yet. I’ve had other urgent issues to tackle. Eventually I will get to
it.

Hi,
This can be done without sighted assistance.
First, did you create a new virtual machine and choose windows.
before starting the new virtual machine, you need to modify some settings, such
as how much ram and hard drive you want.
I am on my way out right now, I’ll have to get you more info lat

Honestly, I have never been able to create the virtual machine myself. What I
try is to point the virtual CD drive to the Windows .ISO file that I downloaded
from Microsoft. I then select the CD drive as the startup device and start the
virtual machine. About a minute later I get a dialog that n
Thank you for the help. As to the last part about Jaws, would this be less of a
problem if I ran NVDA instead?

Yes, this part has alwaysbeen easy for me. I've now installed VMware on a
succession of Mac machines over the years. This step was never a problem in my
experience.

Wanting to get a virtual machine set up so I can install Windows 11 om my MBP
with M3 Max chip.
Can VMWare be installed without sighted asistance, using only Voiceover?
And can it be operated with Voiceover after installation and installing Windows?
And when do I need to get JAWS installed on t
