This seems kind of strange to me. I scan to tiff files all the time with
vuescan and have them converted with Abbyy Finereader Express and they are
fine. I scan mail and whole books. But I don't know what you would do to get
better results.

VueScan's instructio
Perhaps you might like to try Abby Fine reader for running the OCR. You can
use VUe Scan to do the actual scanning and Abby Fine Reader for the actual OCR.
That’s what many of us do.

Hi.
My mother would like if she could scan some smaller books and papers for me.
She has a mac. I will of course help her to set up a bootcamp if it is
necessarry. I would only like her to scan as tif or pdf and when I can
recognize with finereader 11 professional on the windows side of things.
