In regards to your Snow Leopard Question, here is how the licensing
works.
Single User
This is the default one most people buy if they have one computer they
wish to upgrade. This is the one selling for 30 dollars, will
upgrade
You will have to purchase the family pack for $49. You can then install SL
on up to five machines. Since you just have two you will still save $11
before taxes

the $29 copy is a single user one, I'd buy the family pack and save 9
$ and have access for up to 5 machines rather than paying for just 2
copies.
