Yes, it can sometimes depend on the book whether or not it works sentence by
sentence at all. Some of the books published by Apple themselves, don't work
so well that way, but most novels I've tried seem to work fine.

up commander keys in both quick NAV and keyboard commanders and they wouldn’t

Have you considered the Keyboard commander in the VO Utility. For example, you
could do the following:
1. Open the Vo Utility with VO-f8
2. Press cmd-8 to bring focus to the Commanders category
3. VO-right to the Keyboard tab and VO-space on it.
4. VO-right to the table and interact wit
I changed my vo key to caps lock and I'm so happy I did, just pressing the one
key makes things so much simpler especially when working those multi key combos.
