Hi Phi., Yes, it can sometimes depend on the book whether or not it works sentence by sentence at all. Some of the books published by Apple themselves, don't work so well that way, but most novels I've tried seem to work fine.

I tried setting up commander keys in both quick NAV and keyboard commanders and they wouldn’t function in the books app on my particular book. I assumed they wouldn’t work at all in any book. However it was my first go at setting up a commander keystroke and I may have screwed it up somewhat. So, I’m going to try it again using your directions. Thanks for the info.
