Hi!
Oh, didn’t realize that.
They haven’t included the swedish voices yet.
Hope they will.

Hi!
Actually Loquendo is available for mac developpers but no one has integrated
it into voiceover.
The same with espeak.

I do think eSpeak would be a good investment for Apple. They do, after all, use
other open source products or libraries don't they?

About Espeak, yeah, especially now Swift will be open source. Just saying in
case one wishes to compile Espeak in this language.

Hi!
As Jonathan mentioned a voice may not be prefered by someone but others may
like it.
I would like for example to have espeak for mac intergrated into voiceover.
Or the loquendo voices which are really great.
This is something i have been telling apple but it might be good to remind
them.

There is enough documentation for a new TTS to be written. It’s sparse, but it
is there. It’s simply a question of who will write the speech manager plug-in.

Eloquence is great because it is so familiar due to its popularity on a wide
variety of screen readers and other assistive technology products. But
realistically, it has not been in development since, I believe, the late 1990s.
For some perspective on that, the first public version of Mac OS X w
omfortably can listen to on and on for hours at a time.

Darn straight I would! It's really about the only synth I can not only
understand, but comfortably can listen to on and on for hours at a time.

Hello All,
I agree with you Jonathan. An official copy of Eloquence would be just fine
with me. I tried Ava and the responsiveness was sluggish in comparison to Alex.
Eventually, I needed to switch back to Alex.
Best,

Hi Christopher. I think it depends on the hearing loss. I've worked with people
for example with a hearing loss who find Alex unintelligible once you go a
little above the default rate, but who can have compact Daniel cranked up
remarkably fast.
Personally I'd be delighted to have Eloquence on m
If anyone has doubts that Alex will be kept on, then sending Apple
some feedback would be the ticket because Apple cannot read minds.
Alex is great for a male voice. Samantha is the best for a female
voice...almost. She eats some words so adding Siri would be a definite plus.

I hope Alex stics around for a while. Historically it did for software voices
what dec-talk did in the 80s for hardware synths. However times were different
and Alex has always been more responsive than I ever remember dec being:).

Might be coming next year . Seriously though, I don't ever want Apple to
remove Alex. He's fantastic for someone with moderately severe to profound
hearing loss which I have. The other voices included are fine, but doesn't cut
it like Alex.

Hi Ray. I don't really want Apple to get rid of Alex. I lve the fact that he
takes breaths and everything. I am with you on one thing though, I hope Apple
considers making the Siri voices available in El Capitan. After all, you can
get them for NVDA in Windows so why can't it be done on the Mac?
