Hi,
Do you know which version of GarageBand you're running. Version 6.0.5 or
version 10.0.1? You can figure this out by either going into your Applications
folder and doing a cmd-i (Get Info) on your GarageBand app or by going under
the GarageBand menu while in GarageBand and choosing About G

Hi,
No need to re-install any more times. I would usually guess that if it didn't
work after the first re-install, that wasn't going to be the fix. As a matter
of interest though, does the Help Centre appear for you when accessing it from
other apps like Mail, Preview or iTunes?

If it's in your purchase list, it will have a download button. If you uninstall
it on your Mac, you can just press the download button and it will download it
again. This download button will only show up if you have already purchased the
item, so there's no danger of having to buy it again. You

Hi,
Yes, that's normal. You may still be able to re-download it from the AppStore.
Did you go under your Purchased items to see if GarageBand was in the list?
It's in my list and I dint' purchase it separately either. So, if it is in the
list of Purchased items, you will be able to re-downl
actually i didn't purchase the garage band, it came up when i bought my mac, so

Hi,
Hmmm. Thanks for the machine info. The Help Centre doesn't require very much
memory at all so you having 16 GB is plenty to handle numerous apps
simultaneously. The next thing that I'd try is to go to your AppStore, press
cmd-4 to bring up the table of Purchased items, confirm that Garag

Hi,
So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you got it to work once or twice but it
won't bring up the Help Centre for GarageBand anymore? If so, then these
intermittent problems are the hardest to solve as it's difficult to determine
the factors involved when the problem occurs. If you've al
i tried to do what you say then it open the garage band help. then just to
experiment, i close it immediately if it works again, but incontrast, it dont
work anymore.

Hi,
What do you exactly mean by "it works". Are you saying that the Help Centre
app opens but you aren't able to navigate the page or are you saying something
different? Regarding repairing disk permissions, this process will not hurt
anything. It is just a regular MacOS process that helps t

Hi,
Try the following then let me know what happens:
1. VO-m to the menubar.
2. Arrow right (no VO keys) over to the Help menu.
3. Arrow down (again, no VO keys) to the item that should read GarageBand Help.
4. Wait a few seconds as it usually takes a few to open the Help document.

Hi,
What exactly are you doing when the Help won’t open? That is, what key presses

In case you're not familiar with them, you could use an Alias on your
desktop to give easy access to a file that's buried deep on your hard

Hi,
* An alias is what Windows users call a Shortcut. It is simply a file that
points to something else usually somewhere else.
* Only certain file types will usually open automatically. Apple calls them
"Safe" files. Safe files are things like dmg files, movies, pictures, pdf's
