Well,
That is a loaded question and I'll have to behave myself. I just htought a
little discussion of the device and that sort of thing would've been helpful.

What more did you want to get from the video Kev?
For the people who haven't been able to get it to play, Esther kindly
posted a direct link to the video on youtube. I don't have it to hand,
but it was near the begining of this topic.

I had no problem getting this to work when using Safari. I just clicked on the
play button and waited a few seconds, and off it went.

Did someone else see the video and get anything out of it other than the fact
that you could hear VO in the background?

I don't have HD, I have just plain old 300-ohm coax cable feed. It's
digital, because everything is now, but it's pretty traditional basic cable.
I don't know what S-video is.

HMMM. ITV, then? Thanks for this pointer. I can't seem to find pricing and
descriptions of it on the Apple site though. That's an Express card that
plugs into the Mac and into which you plug your cable connector, right?

Like I was saying, something like the el gato box would do this. Not sure

Is there a way to watch actual live real TV content on the Apple TV? That's the

El Gato makes very nice video capture devices that work with the Mac. There's
one called the 250 that's great and they also have a USB dongle version that's
very portable.
Allows you to capture content from directly over the air, over cable or from

That's what I thought as well. Maybe you need something like the El Gato box to

You can't record stuff on this generation of apple tv though or at
least not locally. I guess it could write to someware on the lan, but
this device doesn't even include a tuner; more or less everything is

First, Apple TV actually works unlike uverse.
Also, when playing something you've recorded on Apple TV you don'tuse up your

Since you only get 24 megabits or so it's best to offload as much from your

Since I have AT&T U-verse, what would be the advantage of my getting an Apple

Hi,
The following link will take you directly to a MacWorld article confirming
the presence of voice over in the latest release of the Apple TV software.
You will also find a short video clip providing an example of voice over
being used to navigate the menus of Apple TV.
Enjoy!
