In fact the router is also available on the mac.
You should be able to press the routing buttons when your are on a link or if
that will not work interact with the link and try again.
If that will not work, you will need to find out which command does the
vo+space or asign a comman

Actually, no, I hadn't tried that! I just did and it worked! I also had to
push on the router button a bit harder then I'd thought I would have to to get
it to work.

If you have got the links in a text message you will have to find them with the
links option in the router and then click on them. Sometimes I also do it that
way in emails. If in safari you can try that way or try to press on the routing
keys on the display, it ought to work.
