I'm not sure about accessibility on a mac, but sophos antivirus is very
good. It's very accessible in the windows environment and does a very good
job of stopping problems.
And they do have a version for the mac os.

I would say you don't need anti virus software, I've had my mac for
over a year and have not had any problems. Of course, the best defense
against that kind of thing, on any operating system really is good old
fashioned common sense.
