I sent an I message to a mobile using their phone when in I message on the Mac.
The steps I took to do it was as follows.
1. Find the contact within I message.
2. Press VO spacebar. I then for experiment sake, did vo down arrow. If you
have the recepient's details filled in your contacts,
Only the iPhone allows you to send iMessages using a mobile number. The
other devices will only allow you to send iMessages to an e-mail
