Unfortunately, I think you can only lock the iPhone in portrait mode. You can
lock the iPad in both, however.

Yes, there is a significant change in iOs 7. Tap the status bar at the top,
then swipe up with three fingers. You should hear "control center"" This has a
number of settings you can change on the fly. Orientation settings are on this
screen.

Hi Mike, with IOS 7 you can gain back this functionality in the control centre.
Here's what I suggest you do.
1. go to the status bar
2. Once here swipe up with three fingers going up the screen this should bring
up the control centre for you.
3. Keep swiping right until you here lock orientation
It is done from control center. Find and double tap the "rotation lock" item.
Click the home button once to exit out of control center.
