mac is to install Leopard. The U.S. price is around $129. We spoke with an

You are correct, the clips are generated on the machine you are
syncing with. So, if you are running Tiger and since Alex is not a
voice available to Tiger, you won't have that voice available. I don't
know what Apple can possibly do unless they choose to include Alex as
a voice for Tiger
