xcode is accessible as a code editor, has good project management
also. It is not useable for gui editing though. There are several
languages supported also. Don't install the xcode that came with your
leopard though, get the latest at the apple developer web site. google
xcode for the url
Eclipse is a reasonably good option, especially with a fully Cocoa port in
the works for version 3.5.
I've been playing with the nightly builds and they are working extremely
well.
Eclipse is primarily a Java editor, however plugins exist for Python, Ruby,
Groovy, C, PHP, HTML, JavaScript etc
Yeah, I thought of Nano as well but completely forgot about Emacs. Come
to think of it, I wonder if Emacspeak will work on this system as well.
Don't see a reason why it shouldn't since we are talking about LISP in
this case.

Hi,
You don't want to use TextEdit as a code editor.
You all ready have several good code editors on your system. Just
open Terminal and type emacs, vi, or pico.
