I'm successfully using my Alva Bc640 in bluetooth mode, and i've also used it

That' is probably the problem. I've only switch between the Mac and
the iPod a few times and I usually made sure I was either logged out
of the Mac for the iPod to get it and I thought I usually could
connect to the Mac as long as the iPod was at least in screen lock.
Maybe I need to turn the iPod
Did you have it displaying for the iPod every time you tried it with
the mac? If so, that was the problem; once iOS or OSX gets a display,
that display will not be allowed to work with any other device until
the first device "lets go". That's my (limited) experience anyway.

As a final update, I got the RB 18 to pair this morning. I'm not sure
all the cause of problem but I normally have it paired to my iPod and
I decided to turn off the iPod completely and was able to pair to the
Mac and I wasn't even prompted for a pairing code but it was working
fine before I heade
I'm doing a clean install am getting Mountain Lion free of charge. Just can't
wait to get home to start the process as I'm sitting here at work how
frustrating!

You could make it that way with an 8gb USB stick and some time. I'm
assuming the process is accessible.

Hi All.
I've decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to Mountain Lion this weekend and
am going to see what happens when I connect my Euro Braille via blue Tooth. If
it is broken, I'll let you all know.
I wish Mountain Lion was available on a memory stick as I bought Lion on a
stick from the A
Ok cool. Got it. It paired up nicely, with no problem at all.

Yes, it is all through the vo utility. Go there, select braille from
the table, select the displays tab, select your display (which should
be on and ready at this point) from the table, and hit pair. You will
then be prompted for a pairing code, and be ready as you may not have
much time to type it
Cool, when you pair a bluetooth display on the mac, do you have to do it
through system preferences, bluetooth, ? Like you would with a keyboard,
headset or any other device like that first? And then go into VO utility under
Braille, and set it up there? Or is it all done in VO utility? Was
Might this be a Refresh-a-Braille problem then? It sounds like that's
the only display people are having trouble with, and that only with
bluetooth. They broke HIMS compatibility in iOS5.x, so it isn't
unlikely that a similar problem could happen again.

I have gotten both the Braille Edge and HandyTech Active Braille to work
with ML with no real problem other than the second time I used the Edge it
ask for me to pear it and the time for entering the code was very short, but
I did finally get it done.

Focus 40 is working great. I had to move like a demon to enter the passcode for
the Bluetooth pairing, however. You'll land on the edit field after a few
seconds, once you push the add button.

I'm gonna have to mess about with it some more tonight. My
Refreshibraille works fine over the cable and it appeared to be
discoverable while doing the bluetooth setup. I'll check with APH
today and see if there is anything to reset or something. Maybe I
should reboot the Mac in case but usually
Hi guys
Well, the braille display is one problem I'll not have it. Actually, I'm doing
pretty well except for the aforementioned email thing. I have a focus 40 which
is not a Bluetooth. It is doing fine.

Hi, Steve,
I am using a BrailleNote over here, and it works fine with bluetooth.

OK, I just hooked up my Refreshabraille via the USB cable and that seems to be
working. So I have issues pairing the bluetooth side of things with this
braille display. Makes me wonder if other bluetooth displays are experiencing
any similar problems.

I'll get out my USB cable for the Refreshabraille to see if that makes any
difference. I just know the bluetooth seems broken here. I also plan to call
Apple today on it to see if any issue can be raised or if the pairing procedure
might have changed some how. It just disturbed me greatly whe
Hi folks,
I'm successfully using Baum VarioConnect 32 here with Mountain Lion. It's
connected via USB, but I could try Bluetooth too - out of curiosity. Speaking
of Braille suppor though, I wish one day they would fix all the issues with
International braille tables.

OK, but wait a minute.
Can we be absolutely sure it's indeed braille display support in a whole
that is messed up? Sounds like you're using a bluetooth display. Could it
be that the issue only lies with BT displays, and not with regular connected
u s b's?
I'll have my best friend tonight,
