Hi,
I believe that it is kind of a Gmail/Archiving/AllMail kind of thing. Gmail
handles things in a special way as part of its pseudo iMap configuration.
Simply deleting the account then re-connecting likely does nothing as the
offending message is stored on Google's servers. The best way to
I'd like to know this too, I have this same problem.

Hi Teresa and others,
I have had a similar issue. I have moved the specific mail to the mailbox I
want, however especially with this list and or any of the lists I may belong
to, even if the email address is Marked as VIP, it still falls into my junk
folder. Occasionally there are certain respo
Press command-shift-j while focussed on the message. This toggles the marking
"junk' and "not junk". You may have to move it as well by going into the
message menu, the move menu and move it to another mailbox.

Are you having issues?
First of all there is not always a junk folder. By default the Mac just puts a
flag indicating the message is junk, but leaves it in the inbox.
However if you enabled the junk folder in your preferences then command-6
should open the folder. Note: however that GMAIL ha

Well its not really me who wants to move the junk. My issue is to define a
shortcut key to bring up the "move" dialog box. I've tried it with setting a
keyboard shortcut under system preferences but it seems like if you try to
define anything that is nested or in a submenu it doesn't work. I
Hello Jim,
You only have to do the Mail Preferences thing once, after that, every time you
press Command-Shift-J on a message, it goes straight to the JunkMail folder, or
gets deleted if you've set the Preference to delete junk mail.
Cheers,

Same problem here, and I'm not sure why either because selecting a
box and doing move to again only works well if you plan to move a
fair amount of mail to the given box like I do with the one box. A
sort of store for later box instead of like in your case of wanting
to move (junk) over.
There's also a "move to" command without the again there. And when I assign a
shortcut key to it it seems to me like it should pul up a list of mail folders
but it doesn't work.

I agree, a picularity to Mail I think, most of the mail I move goes
to a box I created called Audio, so can use commandoption T while
specific message is selected, but if I then find one that needs to go
somewhere such as Junk, then have to then do VO Shift M and select it
in the sub-menu w
Comand Option T, but you would have to have selected what box you
want the junk to go to, otherwise it will send it into which ever box
you had moved stuff into previously.

When I define a shortcut key in keyboard under system preferences, it doesn't
make the move to command in mail work. Pretty weird to me.

Oh yeah, that is somewhat shorter than doing it manually. But it still makes
me wonder why I can't set up a "move to" shortcut and have it bring up a list
of folders. Has anybody tried this?

There is a moveto comand, but unfortunately you would have to select
the box, in this case (junk) but it would be kind of nice to have a
different key combo specifically to just move any given message into
junk when you would catch it.

You'd think there would be a "move to" command that you could use with a
shortcut key. That would simplify the process wouldn't it?

Hello Mike,
You press Command-Shift-J to mark messages as Junk, and you go to Mail
Preferences, to the JunkMail tab, to tell Mail to mark messages as Junk and to
put them in the Junk Mailbox.

Great getting a note from you, Jim. Even if there isn't a shortcut key for
accomplishing this, I am relieved that a more experienced user doesn't know of
a method for accomplishing this either.

Hey Mike!
That's an interesting question. I so rarely get junk mail through google these
days. I've tried to set up a shortcut item to move mail to various folders and
have not had good luck. It seems that if the folder is nested I can't get it
to work. I know you can create shortcuts for co
