Hi,
I've never tried it with a VPS, but essentially, the answer is "No", with some
conditions. The Mac OS does not pass through the audio from the remote device,
thus you're unable to know what is happening on the remote machine. Yes, ARD
will control it just fine, you just won't know what's
Hi,
You have to be on the same subnet in order to use the features in ARD. It is
accessible but not when Observing or Controlling another's computer. I don't
believe that you can use it for what you're thinking.

That is how I've been doing it, but with the end user following my instructions
over skype, but I just thought it'd be easier to remote in like jaws tandem,
but I suppose that's not doable….

Hety Tim, if there is audio throughput like in terminal services, perhaps I'd
be able to hear the other person's voiceover, then perhaps that could work. I'd
want to work interactively with a user over the internet…so i guess that won't
work…but yeah thanks for the input man

Hi there.
So, if you also establish a Skype connection, do you think that it will be
possible to listen to voice over at the other end?
Nektarios.

Hi cody,
ARD is accessible in most everything except when you are taking control of
another's computer. You can install packages, copy apps and/or files, text
chat, send Unix commands and a host of other things. The problem comes in when
you are Observing or taking control of another computer
Thanks, I'd be curious how it behaves on the Mac side and how much control one
gets. In other words, it would be nice to remotely manage a machine and not
have to worry about the audio on the remote machine. I don't know that I would
spend the money, but the idea is interesting for sure. :)

Hello Scott,
I have not used that version, however I have used the version that is
intigrated in the MBP. I found that it worked fine, however the voiceover was
on the controlled machine. I did not get any audio on the computer that I was
accessing the controlled machinmachine. Jan 11,
