I've had similar problems and have noted somewhere that these WD hard
drives appear to have problems with Leopard. If yours is an older
machine that was on sale, it may require a firmware update that
improves its compatibility with Leopard. This problem did not occur

Hi not sure I was thinking that since if I turn off the machine at
night it is find then it works good all through so hard to say. this
drive was on sale when I got it so it works fine other wise.

Its a new drive it should not be bad. Is there a way to check for

You may want to check your cables. Sometimes if they are loose or are
faulty they could cause this.
I had this trouble with my HD and it turned out changing out the cable
helped. Also if you have a USB hub check that it is turned on and
