Accorrding to wiki it can be read by adobe8 or later. It might then also allow
saving in another format. Or using cmd-a and cmd-c it will be
copied to the pasteboard and made a text file from there.

Except for those cases where the pub is protected, you should be able to rename
the file by replace pub with zip and then uncompressing it. Unlike

things to mobi, that may be possible.
I have, often, converted epub to other formats, rtf for example.
The site is quite detailed as to what can be done, and their support folks
are first rate.

The only one I was aware of was PDF Pen Pro, but I don’t know jsut how
accessible it is at this point and it is not inexpensive.
