But it doesn't follow that a 3 mpx camera won't work. A company
called top ocr has developed an ocr software that will use a 3 mpx
digital camera connected to a pc, and they are developing one for
windows mobile phones with 3 mpx cameras right now. So, it's nice
that the nokia has a bigg
other devices on the market to
determine their potential.

Yes, I think that plays into it, too; both supported phones have Karl
Zeiss (SP?) optics, which are purported to be like primo top of the
line stuff off in here.

Hi Cara,
I expect people are looking at the KNFB Reader specs. The folks at
KNFB Reading Technology determined (and I don't know their
methodologies) that they couldn't get a consistently good enough image
with a widely enough varying set of natural conditions unless they
used the 5 MP ca
My understanding is the issue is with the lens.

No offense, but where are you getting the idea that a 3 mp camera
isn't powerful enough? -And, what does that actually mean?…
It's possible to take pictures at a much lower resolution than
that, which can clearly show text. -And I'm speaking without auto-
focus here. -Add the autofocus
Possible… but why would you want to carry an attachment. Best to wait
a couple years maybe even next summer. Rest assured that that camera
on the iPhone will get stronger and stronger and no doubt then someone
will be working on an OCR solution for it.

For me, the make or break of Iphone 3G S Tech is going to be that I
don't have to drag tons of peripherals around with me. I mean, I've
already got Trekker's PDA, the bluetooth receiver and a speaker
attached by a big ugly black cord. While I look good in black and a

Developers of hardware have access to the port on the iPhone 3GS I
believe and therefore isn't it possible that someone could develop an
extension for the camera that offers a better camera attachment?

Good evening,
I did give that some thought. To the best of my knowledge the camera
on the iPhone is 3 megapixel whereas the camera on the KNFB Reader
(comparable device) is 5 megapixel.

It's extremely doubtful that an application like this would be very
useful on the latest iPhone 3gs model since it's camera isn't yet
powerful enough. But perhaps the focus feature could help it make up
for its low amount of pixels?

I went looking for this Raspbery application and can not find it. Its
not on the app store and I don't find anything with a Google search.
Do you have a link?

Good afternoon all:
I'm hoping that apps like the Raspberry reader will bring diversity
of functionality to the Iphone. I'd love to see a Money

Good morning,
Curious if anyone knows if there is currently an OCR app for the
iPhone? If you know of any I'd love to know their names so that I can
contact their devlopers regarding making the app accessible with
Voiceover as quickly as possible. With an out of the box accessible
