Hi Pete,
Yes, I did find it, but for some strange reason not in the same thread. I’ve
been a bit late to certain email lists and I think I’ve ended up replying to
threads that have long since been dealt with; yours must have been one of those.

Hi Sabahattin,
You probably didn’t see an earlier reply I sent, but I did get my VM to see my
network drive, and my Network adapter is configured to share with my Mac! It
turned out that the reason I could not see my NAS drive was because I had
logged into Windows using my Microsoft account
Hi Pete,
Your Windows VM won’t discover your NAS while sharing a connection with your
Mac. You should put the network adaptor inside the VM (go to the settings) into
bridge mode with the network adaptor that your Mac is using to connect to your
network. Once you’ve done that, your Windows VM wi

Hi y'all
I finally had to take off the alias that worked, but caused my computer to go
into fits. I think the problem was that the Windows computer is not always
awake when I want to access the network and I have to go and wake it up. That
would be ok except that even when I didn't want it appa

Hello Andrew
I had not even thought about putting an alias on there. That might be better. I
am going to do a test by restarting my computer with the public folder on there
to see if it causes any problems or not. Then I'll think about doing that alias
that.thanks for the idea.

Dear Gigi,
I guess you should be able to leave the public folder on your desktop.
Alternatively, could you put an alias to this folder permanently on your
desktop?

My husband has a computer running under Windows Vista. I hav a Macbook Pro
under Yosemite. Sometimes when he is using the computer and I want to
Hi,
If you've placed the data in a volume or folder that you've made as a share on
your Windows machine, then you can usually access it using the smb protocol.
Normally, you should see shared items in the shared section of your Sidebar.

wanted, then shut it off. THree days later, I boot it up and poof, no
network. The wire that goes from my iMac back to the router in the
next room is well over 50 feet long, probably closer to 70. Well
