You haven't been missing it. It's all new. Some kind person pointed this out
earlier today and I tried it and found it works. I can't remember who it was,
though.

So I tried it, and I had better success in column view than list view. I
couldn't quite get it in the right place with list view, only in the root or
/Users. I tried collapsing and expanding the directory, as well as from
this other way consistently works every time
flawlessly.

To move files or folders in the Finder, just select what you want, press
Cmd-c then use VO t
