Personally I wonder if it's not Apple Mail, but Gmail itself? Last night, I checked mail in a 2 hour period, and received none, and usually with all the lists I'm on, I'll get at least 10 or so messages in a 2 hr period. Last night, when they did come it was like at the end of the 2 hr period.
