Hi Sarah et al, I don't know if its a setting i need to change, but I have found that after i delete messages from Mail, the Mac keeps a copy of all the messages in the Mail folder in my user library You could try deleting these to see if it speeds things up. Also, I've found that Mail slows down for some reason occasionally when using IMAP with GoogleMail. This may be an issue with GMail's server though.
