Might also give Audio Recorder a try. It's been so long since I first
set it up but I think the initial launch throws up the usual I agree
with a bunch of 'don't sue me' legalese. At the end are two un-announced
buttons for I agree or not. You'll want to hit tab once and then space

I found Total Recorder confounded me, and my laptop only has a Mic jack.
