If so then your account might be corrupted and I think there is a fix somewhere!
You only have to set up a guest account just to check!

I'm pretty sure I answered this question a couple of days ago. lol. Go to
system preferences then keyboard. Then select the keyboard tab. After that,
checked Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.

Hello, I recently purchased a Logitech Solar keyboard for my Mac and I really
do like this keyboard except for one thing. It seems as though that the F keys
perform hardware actions, and I need them to perform software actions, but I
can't see anywhere on my system where I can make this change.
