signed in to itunes to do this, and it doesn't seem to be downloading, or if it

Unless Lion has the SSL loophole fixed via an update I strongly
recommend you update to Mavericks.

Ok, I'm extremely behind everybody here, but what exactly is different about
Mavericks as opposed to Lion? I don't at the moment use any 3rd-party text
editing/security software, or run Windows on my machine, so aside from that,
would there be a need to upgrade to it considering that?

Mavericks is table now but don't know if you need to upgrade Fusion or
not. Sounds like you don't from the other replies to this thread. So you

I'm definitely not sure about upgrading. I did when it first came out, and
disaster struck, and I reverted to Mountain Lion. Apps and Safari loaded
horribly, Mail was screwed up; VO in Safari was awful. A nightmare.

it's not necessary at all to upgrade VMware Fusion. I didn't and it's just fine
without doing so.

With the latest updates to Mavericks, has it become a net gain to upgrade from
ML, or are they on parity still?
ML works great for me with my fusion VM of window7. I don't want to upgrade and
screw things up including my MacMail/Gmail setup , and also have to upgrade
fusion if there's not a net
