I can understand the principle of not being able to copy the entire book;
however, if you are studying material you are trying to learn, copying small
sections would be most helpful.

however, that Ibooks doesn’t keep my place in the book. So I exported the files
to text and have been reading them

Have you tried not taking IBooks from your app switcher? If you leave it there
you will keep your settings. When you close iBooks you will have to reset.

I wanted to know if people are having issues with iBooks? When I open a book,
I can’t seem to read it. I place focus on the text, and interact with it. but
it makes iBooks go busy, or even restart/ lockup some.
I’m fully updated on my ox x 10.11.

I have just tried using iBooks for the first time as well. I know this may
seem like a sort of basic suggestion, but the first time I opened iBooks, I had
the same problem. I closed and reopened the app, and now the problem has gone
away. You might give that a try.

things to my library. You might want to try trashing all preferences that start
with com.apple.ibooks and see if that helps.

I used to use Stanza on the Mac. Unfortunately Stanza does not seem to
support modern epub file on the Mac any more though it stills handles
mobi files OK as long as you install the legacy Java stuff when prompted.

Also my printer driver setup requires me to pay for sighted help as
well. As everything else is working as expected so far I might have to
consider whether iBooks is really worth having to dlete all my settings
accounts and so on to set everything up from scratch.
