Turned out that 1, i had the icon in the dock pointing at an old version of
Pages from 2012. 2, in that version i chose the blank layout document instead
of the word processing document. All fixed now and the right version of Pages
namely the latest one is what the dock icon points to.

Further to Erik’s comments, the Blank template that you’ve chosen is the
correct one. In Pages Preferences, you can set Pages to automatically have
this as your default document upon startup. For me, at least, when starting
Pages, when the blank document comes up, VO is focused on the Bod

First, let me say that you can export to word formats in textedit just fine.
To do this, make a new rich text document using command N followed by command
shift T.
When you save your file, simply add the .doc or .docx extension and it will
open properly in word.
