Hi Mark,
Basically, the WatchOS is not as robust at this point as iOS, iPadOS or MacOS.
When adding languages, it appears that you are adding the default base voice
for that language. So, if you added Australian, you’d have Samantha
ks so well.

Hello Donna and All,
Okay, first I understand that your solution to your original questions, Donna,
was to enable Siri on your watch.

Hi Tim,
I finally got it to work. I had to power the watch off and back on, and then
the option to turn on the SIRI voice worked.
I feel your pain re sleep. When my watch self-destructed, it was four AM, and
of course I couldn’t go back to sleep because I was trying to figure out what
was go
Hi,
I’m not sure. I tried it for an hour as well without luck. Maybe I’ll leave
it on the charger overnight to see if it does it. It will mess up my sleep
record, but I don’t appear to sleep that much anyway.

Anyone have an idea how long it takes to download the Siri voice? I’ve had the
watch on the charger for an hour, and I’m still getting that same error
message. I wish there was some way to know for sure that it was actually
downloading the voice.

Donna

Hi Donna,
Yes, I found that horribly early this morning when I was supposed to be
sleeping. That’s what happens when you get old. Odd sleep patterns, and
remember things in the middle of the night. Anyway, you need to put the watch
on the charger to get it to download the new Siri voice. I
Hi Alia,
Oddly enough, this morning it was there, but I swear last night it was not.
Last night I was using the Watch app on my phone though, so maybe that had
something to do with it. I’ve noticed that since the re-set, there are a
number of things that have changed since I first set up the
donna,
you’ll see voiceover on, tap that, and scroll down. there is a toggle to enable
siri voice for your watch there. it’s right before the braille settings.

No, that just changes the language, it doesn’t change the voice, unless you
have that language alread set to the Siri voice. Shawn is right, what I need
is the option that says Turn On Siri Voice, ut I’m not seeing it since the
re-set.

Donna

Hi,
I think what you want to do is the two finger twist right or left to get to the
language setting. Once on languate single finger swipe up or down to make your
selection.
I found this out one day when my watch changed to a language I don't know.

Hi Sean,
I don’t see this setting. I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen it in earlier versions
of watchOS, but I’m not seeing it since repairing my watch. Where is it?
Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna. If it's the Siri voice you want on your watch, go in the Voiceover
settings and enable Siri voice. Note that the watch will use whatever Siri
voice you're using on your phone.

Hi Tim,
OK, so I’ve added a second language. But I still don’t see any way to select a
different voice. I did this before, so I know it’s possible, I just can’t
figure out how to do it again.

Donna

Hi,
Go into Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Rotor Languages and Add a language.
. Once you’ve added the language, the language option will be in the rotor and
you can swipe up/down when the rotor is on Language to change the voice. If
someone else has more granular voice options, I’d like
Hi all,
This morning I had to reset my watch and re-pair it as a new watch. Now I back
to the Samantha voice again, and I can’t remember how to change to one of the
other voices. Can someone please refresh my memory?
TIA,
Donna
