I think i only got some password box to fill in.

mine did the same thing. you have to go into internet accounts, where it tells
you that you have to sign into your google account. after you do this look for
an "allow" button for osX to connect with gmail. I have no idea why this was
done. they were communicating just fine before the upgrade.

This was actually a Google security update that caused the extra
authentication. Great that our friends at Google and Apple work together to
keep us secure :).

lid from my MacBook. And My wife got the same. Interesting how it behaves
differently on different machines.

I upgraded my Mac mini last Thursday to Mojave 10.14.4, and my wife did the
