A mailbox is essentially a folder. Some, like inbox or drafts, are pre-built;
others are created by the user. The best these can do is have messages filtered
into them by simple rules, usually set up on the server side for IMAP accounts.

after installing Sierra the other day I could not get Mac Mail to work at all,.
It kept crashing. After an hour and a half with Apple care we resolved the
problem. I now have to rebuild my previous mailbox structure. What is the
difference between ordinary mailboxes and smart ones?
