Hi,
I never really played with Growl, so I'd like to figure this one out. I usually
hate Growl because it makes VoiceOver continuously say "System has new dialog".
That's probably because I never bothered to mess with it, though. I wasn't
aware it could play with speech as well, though I guess
In growl, there's a way to get this set up.

I don't know a way to automate incoming chat announcement, but turning
off cursor tracking with VO+Shift+F3 will let VoiceOver keep your
position in each chat window so VO+Right is all you need to read the
next message, once you have placed the VO cursor in the message area
for that window.

Skype can announce incoming calls, outgoing calls, who's connecting and
disconnecting and so-forth natively. I'd imagine that, if no one has sent this
suggestion to Skype about chats, it probably won't happen. I don't think it's
