hi Dan,
Did you read Robert Carter’s posts about how to insert the sentence? I knew
there was an easier way, but I just couldn’t think of it.

Hello Janet,
It works, but wow! I guess I'll go back to using Studio Recorder in
Windows. After all you can copy and paste like you do in word processing and
nothing really complex to do. And I don't really need multi track recording for
the kind of recordings I make.
Even though Studio Reco
Hi I left out a step. After you press command+a to select the sentence, you
need to press command+c to copy the selection to the clipboard. You can then
paste it into the proper place in the first file.

Hi,
You could start a new file and record the sentence that you want to insert. Do
a select all command+a to copy the sentence to the clipboard. Open the original
file and get to the place where you want to insert the sentence, press
command+y to get the playhead on that spot and press command+
There might be an easier way but here is what you can do:
1. Create a new blank track.
2. Play the original track until you get to where you want to insert the
sentence.
3. Type the letter P to mark that spot.
4. Type Command-Left Arrow. VoiceOver will say, “Extend to previous marker. The

Hi Janet,
Actually, all I want to do is to insert in the middle of the file an additional
sentence. At this point it is just a single track file.

Hi Danny,
Do you want to insert the voice without the music playing or have the voice on
top of the music? Let me know and I’ll give you the procedure.
Take care,

Hi folks,
I am considering amadeus pro.
I am using it during its trial period.
Here’s my question.
I have recorded a sound file, a voice file. Now, I wish to add a bit somewhere
in the middle. As a VoiceOver user, how would I do this with the keyboard?
Thanks.

Thanks all. Yes I have been listening to the fantastic podcast series that Pete
Lane did on Blind Abilities, and will probably dive in and get Jonathan’s book.
It seems like a fantastic program which is very VO friendly.

Brian,
You can also move to specific points in a file if you know the approximate time
with command-g. Type in the time using the following format. Minutes followed
by quotation marks then seconds with no spaces.

First, let’s deal with the run time. You can find it in the tool bar over on
the very right hand side. Now, let’s discuss quickly moving through a file.
Sounds like you need to know how to zoom in and out. So, here goes. To zoom

Hey guys,
Thanks will try escape next time as I to quit the app and started over. Any
idea what the key commands are to quickly jump through a large audio file and
where you can find the running time of a piece as I cannot seem to figure this
out for the life of me. Thanks again.

When it happened to me, I had to close the app and reopen it.

Okay. I think I know what happened to you. Same thing happens to me from time
to time. You got in to the scroling area. Press escape to get out again and
you’re good to go. Don’t know why that happens but I hope that fixes it for ya.

the left and right arrows together to turn this mode off again. If I'm wrong,
I'm not sure what else it might be.

Hi Rachel,
I got it figured out. I was pausing the recording with the spacebar rather
than ending it with Return, which left me in the recording dialog, and thus
pressing Tab did not work. When I stop the recording by pressing Return,
Amadeus behaves exactly as you describe. Thanks for the h

the recording. If I choose Keep recording, then I'm back in my
You may have to press tab an additional time after you've stopped
recording to get it to play.

Pressing tab will start you from the beginning of your file. It's where
your playhead is. If you route the insertion point to the playhead at
any point in your file, (with command+y), then pressing space will start
from that point.

Hi, Emrah and others,
I'm still having difficulty working with the time in amadeus pro. While a file
is playing, is there somewhere I can see a counter running, so that I know
where in time I am in the file as it plays?
Paul.
