Tim you should be fine as I think the Express version will continue to work
with what you are doing just OCR documents it just will not work connecting to
a scanner as I do have the read file option, just no longer have the Twain
option to use with a scanner.

Its not ridiculous, its business. We all would love to pay a one
time fee and get a lifetime of free upgrades. If we worry about the off
chance that at some point we will have to pay for an upgrade, we would
still be using MS DOS.

Hmmm. Very interesting. I've used it multiple times over the last few weeks.
Again, I've just opened existing scanned documents, but have had no issues. I
hope it doesn't fail in the next little while.

Customer service got back to me and Express no longer works with Sierra you
have to pay $80 to upgrade to pro which is ridiculous, as who knows when they
will decide to make that version incompatible. Very disappointed with Fine
Reader as I believe I paid $60 or more for the Express version. No
Thanks Tim, you would think if it works on Sierra than it would work with a
scanner. Hopefully customer support will get back to me, but they have not in
the past which is why I would not buy another product from them. Thanks again.

Hi,
Yes, Express is working for me with Sierra. The difference, though, is that
I've not ever used it with a scanner, so can't properly comment on that part of
things. Usually, people have just sent me scanned documents, and I OCR them.

Express use to work fine but may they stopped supporting it. I have emailed
their customer support but I find them to be useless. We shall see, I may just
dump the product as I am not going to pay for the upgrade as it is ridiculous
if they stopped making the Express version work with mac. If an
When I wanted to get Finereader 2-3 years ago for the Mac, Express
was then not available so got the Pro version.

John, Are you using Abby Fine Reader Express or Pro? I am using Express or

I’ve had no problems with my HP8500. I just checked it out to be sure. I’d
suggest first making sure Image Capture will work with the scanner. If it does,
you might want to try deleting Abby and then installing it again. If Image
Capture isn’t working, be sure the scanner is being seen by the
Hey all,
Since installing Sierra I have not been able to get Abby Fine Reader to work. I
have done my research on this issue and it looks like Abby is not recognizing
my scanner as it is only giving me the option to read from file, no Twain
driver option. Does anyone know how to fix this as Abb
