Thanks to everyone that has responded so far to my post.
For those people who suggest that we just scan our books, call me a breaker
of the old tradition, but scanners are just not practical anymore. More and

Hi Jess,
It is also worth remembering that it is not only Blind people who are being
affected by such measures. Dyslexics and other print disabled people will also
have issues with this as I believe many of them use speech to access these
books. I do not remember the details, but I think there
"use a scanner if you ***really*** wanna read it." Nice idea, but more and more
books are being converted to E Text, and with apps like the kindle, you pay the
same price you would pay for a paperback in a physical book store. My point is,
when paperbacks and hardbacks are no more, what will we
use a scanner if you ***really*** wanna read it.
I use my scanner constantly and hate wasting time on scanning them,
but if you fly rc planes like i do and wanna be good thaht is the way
to go, cause i simply can not get them as ebooks.

Jes, this is why I laugh at the laws, which are already on the books. As
amazing as it seems, the laws contain provisions to protect authors and
publishers of content and the laws that provide access to this content for
those with disabilities also contain provisions to protect said individuals.
